Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - The flow of Idul Fitri travelers at Kupang`s El Tari airport is expected to take place on D-Day minus three or minus four, assistant manager of El Tari airport Edi Chahyono said.

"We base our prediction on the flow of travelers at the airport last year when it peaked on three days and four days before the D-Day," Edi said here on Thursday.

He said that in an effort to anticipate the surge in the flow of passengers, his office had set a service command post to smooth the flow of travelers who went home towns and the reverse flow when they returned from their villages.

Edi said that the command post had been operating since Wednesday and would remain there until the D-Day plus seven.

He said that in 2010, the average number of travelers flowing through the port was 1,500 per day.

The normal 17 flights per day would likely be raised to 28 flights during the 2011 Idul Fitri festivities, he said.
