Batam, Riau Islands (ANTARA News) - Bank Indonesia (BI/the central bank) Batam office has predicted that a total of Rp1.1 trillion of money has been in circulation in Batam to meet the need for the post-fating month of Lebaran festivities.
"We predict that the money in circulation in Batam in the face of Lebaran day reaches Rp1.1 trillion," Deputy for Banking Payment and Management of BI for Batam Johnson Pasaribu said on Friday.
He said that the circulation of money was estimated from cash withdrawal from banks and exchanges of various small changes.
"Lat year, the amount was only about Rp900 billion," he said.
