Surabaya, E. Java (ANTARA News) - The BMX bikes Cross racing team expressed optimism about its ability to grab gold medals at the SEA Games in 2011 in Palembang after reaching maximum results in some arenas of international trials.
"Based on the racers preparation and the results of the international trials, we are optimistic that they can win the gold medal at the upcoming SEA Games," coach of the BMX Cross national training center, Sugeng Trihartono said here on Saturday.
The BMX national training center racers won two gold medals when taking part in the Thailand Open last series championship on July 24, 2011.
The gold medals in the Thailand Open was grabbed by Elga Kharisma Novanda and Toni Syarifudin, he said, adding that another biker, Puguh Atmadi obtained bronze medal at the event.
"We make periodical evaluation every three months. The results of the Thailand championship is the final round of the racer evaluation," he said.(*)
